Forbidden City Queyoumen

This toilet is a water-free and flushable sanitary toilet that served in the right gate of the Forbidden City from 2003 to 2019. There is neither running water nor sewer in this place. Because the Forbidden City is a nationally protected cultural relic, excavation for water supply and drainage is not allowed.

There is another one at the left gate as well.

The two water-free flushable toilets on the left and right are provided by Beijing Landwasher Company. The company created them after only 4 years of establishment, and they lasted 16 years. Together, they created the industry’s highest record for continuous operating hours of sanitary toilets without sewers.

Before this, bag toilets and microbial toilets were tried here, but they were too smelly and could not last for two or three years.

Every day, people go from Tiananmen and Duanmen to Meridian Gate. Tourists who have booked tickets enter the Forbidden City inside the Meridian Gate, while most tourists without tickets go along the outer wall of the Forbidden City from the Left Gate and Right Gate on both sides. The advantage of a vacuum toilet is that it is flushed with water and the front end of the toilet will be more hygienic. The advantage of water-free flushable sanitary toilets is that flushing with deodorized urine does not require water consumption, and the stool can be deodorized and crushed into slurry. The emissions are only one-third of that of a vacuum toilet, and there is no need for a huge water tank. Under the premise of the same cleaning cycle, the volume of the waste container with water-free flushable technology is only about one-fifth of the total volume of the water tank and manure tank container with vacuum drainage technology.

Since the waterless flushable sanitary toilet technology has realized the unitization of toilet equipment, that is, each toilet seat has an independent set of toilet equipment, the failure of one piece of equipment will not cause the entire toilet to stop functioning.

The per capita emission of water-free flushable toilet technology is only 0.25 liters, and harmless emissions are achieved. That is, 90% of the odor is removed, 99% of the microorganisms are removed, and all are crushed and liquefied. Can be used as a fertilizer to soil. This manure slurry was once transported to Miyun district to grow corn, and the organic corn grown was delivered to the canteen of the Dongcheng District Environmental Sanitation Center. Since this type of toilet has no requirements for running water, no restrictions on the number of people, no requirements on temperature and humidity, and is not affected by hypoxia at high altitudes, it consumes very little energy, and its operating costs are low to those of water flushing toilets, which has become the perfect solution for extreme conditions.

We only provide waterless flushable toilet equipment, but our waterless flushable toilets have entered a wider range of structures including fixed toilets, allowing architectural design institutes to become our channel partners. The more focused the product line is, the wider the road will be. The exclusivity of the National Patent Excellence Award makes it easy for the general contractor to win the bid as a single source.
