At the end of April 2017, the first water-free flushable tourist toilet was completed in Dagu Scenic Area, Sangri County, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is also the first autonomous region toilet revolution demonstration project. It is rated 1A and has a total of eight toilet seats and two urinals. There is a maintenance channel behind each toilet seat. Men urinate in the toilet using a water-free flushable urinal. After the urine is collected, a special agent with an appropriate proportion is automatically added to become a flushing fluid, which is distributed to urine collection boxes at various stool positions that may be short of water. During the operation of the toilet, the temperature was basically just above freezing, and except for occasional power outages, the equipment operated normally.
